"No Matter Your Station in Life, We Al Have the Ability to Touch the Heart of Another and Make a Difference in the Life of Someone Else"
-The Brian Ellis Story
We each have the power to “Touch The Heart of Another." My son Brian Ellis did so, both during his life and after his passing, when he became an organ donor and gave the gift of life to six(6) people. Brian was a beautiful son, who taught us all the gift of kindness, forgiveness, and how to enjoy life. He is missed deeply by his family and friends. People who met Brian would often say to me, “he touched my heart.” He was born severe “hydrocephalus” (a condition called water on the brain) and never developed mentally past the age of a young child. He died Nov. 20, 2009 at the age of 31.
Brian’s heart saved the life of a 12 year old girl in Nevada; the recipient of his right kidney was a 18 year old young man in Utah; his left kidney was transplanted into a 33 year old woman; his liver recipient is a 44 year old man; a 62 year old woman was the recipient of his left lung and his right lung was transplanted into a 65 year old woman. These last 4 recipients all resided in Southern California. His pancreas was donated to research. Due to an infection we were unable to donate his eyes, tissue or bones.
This website is created by Brian's mother to share the remarkable story of a person who still touches the hearts of others, even those who will only know him through the memories of others. It remains a loving work in progress. Please read his blogs. As I continue to move toward my goal of a Foundation I keep the blogs current on my grief journey. GOD BLESS and Thank you for taking the time to know him.
